Elias Vitrano

Elias Vitrano’s painting takes shape from mystery. On the canvas the artist tries to render the mystery of the everyday and the many parts that make it up, such as a dog’s footprint in the sand, the curve of a flower weighed down by an insect, the small plants growing on a rock, the reflections in a puddle. When he draws, before starting to paint, he tries to imitate those energies, those mysterious forces, aspects of nature that manifest themselves in a very personal imagery of suspended forms and lands.
The technique he feels closest to is oil on canvas, with a colour palette that in his most recent works draws on neon colours and the science-fiction illustrations of the 1960s.
