salon palermo
Since 2021, every Salon summer, new Italian painting travels down to Palermo. An exhibition, an observatory, a community.
Salon Palermo — a survey of new painting in Italy — is RizzutoGallery’s group show devoted to young Italian painting: in Palermo since 2021, 4 editions (2021–2024), 37 artists, 139 works, curated by Antonio Grulli and Francesco De Grandi (since 2022). Next edition: Salon Palermo 5, Summer 2027.

What if one of the answers to the problems of today’s art world were the Salon? Let’s think about it, without provocation.

Julian Schnabel at the Salon
A few days after the opening, Julian Schnabel walks into the gallery. In a white jumpsuit and hat, he moves through the rooms of Salon Palermo 3, stops in front of the paintings, picks one up, talks with the artists. We filmed it on our phones, the way you do with things you don’t want to forget.
