Francesco Maria Romano

Francesco Maria Romano’s painting is a mysterious narrative in which personal events and vicissitudes are intertwined with journeys real and fictitious, imaginary and invisible. Romano’s inner dimension underlines art’s ability to open windows onto new and unexplored landscapes, in an investigation of divergent possibilities and dimensions. Dream and reality merge and blur in a mixture of memories and recollections that leads the visitor to explore the boundaries between the outer and inner worlds.
Romano graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo. In 2014 he won an artist’s residency in Düsseldorf through an agreement between the SACS Archive – Palazzo Belmonte Riso Museum of Contemporary Art and the Verein zur Veranstaltung von Kunstausstellungen e.V. Also in 2014 he was included in the SACS Archive and his work entered the Museo Riso collection; in 2016 his work entered the permanent collection of artist’s books of the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo.
