With an aesthetic based on contrasts, he works through a series of discordant oxymorons: surfaces are now matt, now glossy; now dry, now doughy; now clean, now dirty. The ambiguity of these dichotomies is conveyed through a mark that seems perpetually to contradict itself, in agitated and hopelessly broken brushstrokes.

A hybrid bestiary inhabiting dreamlike settings and breathing toxic atmospheres: his painterliness is a transcription of how his being filters the world.
